The Carreras Limited is accepting applications from qualified students to their annual scholarship programme. This year, the scholarship application process is ONLY available to be completed online at https://carreras-bat.vercel.app/ or at https://www.carrerasltd.com/.
This scholarship programme is available to students pursuing studies at numerous tertiary-level institutions across Jamaica and are in need of financial assistance. They must be Jamaican citizens who are 18 years and older and have an exemplary academic record.
For the 2023/2024 scholarship application offer, all student applicant MUST register on the donor’s website and complete the application form, upload required documents and submit a completed application form through the application portal ONLY.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2023 AT 6:00.P.M

Scholarship Categories
THE CARRERAS SEEK SCHOLARSHIP
The SEEK Scholarship is the premium scholarship category of the Carreras Scholarship programme as it offers up to one million dollars (JA$1 million) to each successful applicant. The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing studies in Liberal Arts, Humanities and Sciences.
THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES SCHOLARSHIP
As the name suggests, is offered to students of Community Colleges such as the Excelsior Community College, Knox Community College, Portmore Community College, College of Agriculture, Science, and Education (CASE), Brown’s Town Community College, Montego Bay Community College, Moneague Community College and Bethlehem-Moravian College. Each scholarship is worth up to one hundred thousand dollars (JA$100,000).
THE CARRERAS TEACHERS’ COLLEGES SCHOLARSHIP
The teacher’s college Carreras scholarship is also valued at up to one hundred thousand dollars (JA$100,000). It is open to teachers in training at numerous colleges across the island namely Church Teachers’ College, Mico University College, Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College, Shortwood Teachers’ College and St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College.
THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
This carreras scholarship category solely targets students of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. Each awardee receives up to one hundred thousand dollars (JA$100,000).
CARRERAS UNIVERSITY BURSARY
This bursary for local tertiary school is offered to students of The University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH), Northern Caribbean University (NCU), University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC), Hydel College and the Caribbean Maritime University. If awarded, each student receives from JA$50,000 to JA$100,000.

The company accepts that they produce and market a controversial product. Therefore, they believe it is essential that they do so responsibly. Carreras Limited is a part of British American Tobacco plc, one of the world’s most international businesses, with brands sold in more than 200 markets around the world.

On an annual basis, Carreras awards more than 30 scholarships at various fields and levels of tertiary education in Jamaica, including Teachers’ College Scholarships, Community College Scholarships, National scholarships, which for the first time in the company’s history, is an offer of a full scholarship at the undergraduate level for the duration of the selected awardees’ studies and visual and performing arts scholarships.
Applicants must be Jamaican citizens, 18 years and older and have achieved at least a B average or 3.0 GPA in the previous academic year.
