In a thrilling finale of the TVJ’s Junior Schools Challenge Quiz, the Spanish Town, St Catherine-based Friendship Primary defeated Creative Kids Learning Academy of St Andrew 25-16 to win the 2021 TVJ Junior Schools Challenge Quiz Scholarship of $700,000.
Friendship Primary had fallen behind in the first two rounds.
They ended round one trailing five-seven and at the end of round two were at 17 points to Creative Academy’s 22. However, in round three, Friendship charged ahead to beat Creative Kids by nine points.
The winning team was presented with the TVJ Junior Schools Challenge Quiz Scholarship of $700,000 and a championship trophy, tablets and other cash prizes.

The Television Jamaica Junior Schools Challenge Quiz Scholarship
Television Jamaica is pleased to invite applications for the 2020 TVJ JSCQ Scholarship.
The student who is awarded this scholarship will get assistance that is valued at One Hundred and Forty Thousand Dollars ($140,000.00 each year for five years to assist in funding their secondary education. The total value of TVJ Schools Challenge Quiz scholarship at the end of five years is Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000.00).
The funds in the scholarship are earmarked to assist in offsetting fees and books where possible. The money will not be disbursed directly to the student. The student to be awarded the scholarship will be selected by TVJ.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship the student must complete the Television Jamaica Schools Challenge Quiz application form and submit it to TVJ by Friday August 13, 2021.
Applications will be accepted by post at – “TVJ Scholarship 2020”, 32 Lyndhurst Road, Kingston 5, or by email at – tvjscholarships@televisionjamaica.com or hand delivered at RJRGLEANER COMMUNICATIONS Group, 32 Lyndhurst Road, Kingston 5.
Applications received after August 13, 2021 will not be considered. The form is attached to this correspondence and is also available for download from www.televisionjamaica.com. The TVJ-JSQS winner cannot hold another scholarship simultaneously.

Who can apply:
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship the student must have been a sitting player in the 2020 season of TVJ’s Junior Schools Challenge Quiz.
Primary Exit Profile Performance (P.E.P):
Students must have a combined average of 80% across the three assessment areas.
350 word essay
To Submit an essay not exceeding 350 words on the topic: “. If you the Prime Minister during 2020, what are the three most important things you would do for children your age and why”
TVJ Experience
The TVJ-JSQS winner will also be offered a two (2) week summer experience at TVJ during the summer holidays.
Maintain grades:
The recipient of the TVJ Junior Schools Challenge Quiz Scholarship will be required to maintain a minimum average of 80 percent in any five subjects (including Mathematics and English Language) over the five years of his/her secondary education. Failure to maintain this average could result in the loss of the scholarship..

Two teachers at the school are required to endorse the student’s application for the scholarship.
