Funding your tuition to the International University of the Caribbean , like other local universities is becoming a mountainous task. As such, we are presenting you with the most up to date IUC scholarships, bursaries and payment plan now available.

IUC Payment Plans

Firstly, IUC currently offers a number of attractive payment plans to meet the needs of their students. Students can choose either a semester payment plan or a monthly payment plan. To identify a plan that is right for you, please visit the campus and speak a member in the finance department or the Centre for Communication and Student Services.

Considering their payment plan along with student loans are a plan B that all students should include in their education financing arsenal. The idea is to cover all your tuition with an IUC scholarships, however, if you fall short, a payment plan or small student loan would be helpful.


IUC Scholarships

IUC currently offer two in-house dedicated IUC scholarships. These are:

The FULL Tertiary Tracks Scholarships – Awardees are chosen based on their defined financial need, history of involvement in community work and their display of potential to be effective role models in their respective communities. Selection is based in the first place, on the University’s geographic structure.

Tertiary Tracks Scholarships Cover The FULL IUC TUITION COST

The IUC operates in four (4) Regions in Jamaica: North Middlesex, South Middlesex, Cornwall and Surrey. Two (2) awardees selected from each of the three rural regions and four (4) awardees from Surrey. These IUC Scholarship applicants are interviewed by a panel of IUC representatives. Tertiary Tracks is a full scholarship.

The First Step Scholarships (FIRST YEAR STUDENTS) – Primarily aimed at our day programme for persons who are entering tertiary education for the first time. The part-scholarship covers $70,000 of the first years tuition of the student.

To apply for this IUC scholarship, students need to highlight their financial need, and the First step scholarship committee will choose successful candidates based on pre set criteria. For further information please contact the CCSS department.

To apply for these scholarships, as an applicant, you will need to ask your student financial aid office about the specific scholarship OR apply directly to the scholarship donor. Here we go!

J$1million SEEK Scholarship from the Carreras Scholarship programme: One Million Jamaican Dollars (J$1,000,000) scholarships per students are now available from the Carreras SEEK Scholarship programme for undergraduate studies in the Liberal Arts, Humanities and Sciences at any local university or college. Application deadline is Friday, June 12.

The Carreras University Bursariesis IUC Scholarships valued at fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) on offer to students of the following universities: The University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH), Northern Caribbean University (NCU), University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC), Hydel College, and the Caribbean maritime University along with other locally accredited universities. If your university of college isn’t on this list, don’t worry, contact the donor for clarification. Application deadline is Friday, June 12

Over J$3.5million dollars in scholarships shared between three categories of the Jamaica Flour Mills Foundation Scholarship Programme. The three categories of scholarships are The Jamaica Flour Mills Foundation General Scholarships and Grants, Jamaica Flour Mills Foundation Community Scholarships and Grants, and the JFM Baking Technology Scholarships. Application closes mid July.

Jamaica Private Power Company (JPPC) Scholarship for full-time and part-time students an any accredited local college/university from the Jamaica Private Power Company (JPPC). JPPC recognizes the need for academic advancement in order to foster economic development in Jamaica.

The Company remains committed to assisting in laying the building blocks for academic success in the region of East Kingston and Port Royal, in which it operates. Two (2) recipients will benefit from a scholarship of J$250,000 each per school year, payable per semester; covering tuition, books and material. Students of the IUC will be able to apply for these IUC Scholarships also

West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) Scholarship recognizes the need for academic advancement in order to foster economic development in Jamaica. The Company remains committed to assist in laying the building blocks for academic success in the Western Kingston Division, in which it operates. Two (2) recipients will benefit from a scholarship of J$250,000.00 each per school year, payable per semester, covering tuition, books and material.

Apply for the annual JMMB Foundation scholarships for final year students at any local university, from the JMMB’s Joan Duncan Foundation. This year’s scholarships are available to final year students specializing in Entrepreneurship, Operations Management and more.

Rio Tinto scholarships and bursaries: The scholarship programme is funded by Rio Tinto Alcan Inc. (formerly Alcan) through investments in Jamaica under the management of the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) and is managed by the Jamaica 4-H Clubs.
