The Government of Cuba invites applications from interested persons wishing to pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies in Cuba under the Jamaica/Cuba Bilateral Scholarship Programme commencing February 2023 and managed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Service.

7 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE || APPLICATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 22, 2022
Cuba/Jamaica Bilateral Scholarship 2022 Disciplines
- Four (4) scholarships to pursue Medicine studies
- One (1) scholarship for bachelor’s degree in Nursing, corresponding to the bachelor’s degrees in Health Technologies
- Two (2) postgraduate Medical studies only for graduates from Cuban medical schools (see annex for specialized areas)
Eligibility – Candidates for undergraduate and Masters scholarships:
- Be Jamaican under the age of 25 years old
- Have at least two {2} “A” Levels or CAPE Units I & II in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Have English at least at the CXC level
- Submit certified copies of academic certificates and transcript, school record, school leaving certificate, police record
- Health certificate including HIV test results, a non-pregnancy test (females)
- Personal Letter of Request indicating community involvement and leadership
- References, School or Community Leader
- copy of Birth Certificate & TRN
- Submit a certified copy of Birth Certificate & TRN
- Submit certificated copy of pages of national passport { Passport should not expire before April 30, 2029 }
- Submit ten (10) passport size photographs
Candidates for postgraduate scholarships
- Be Jamaicans under the age of 35
- Have a Degree in General Medicine from a University in Cuba and be interested in specializing in the indicated areas.
- Submit certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts
- Submit a certified copy of Birth Certificate & TRN
- Submit certificated copy of pages of national passport { Passport should not expire before April 30, 2029 }
- Submit ten (10) passport size photograph

Obligation
Successful candidates will be required to:
- Pay their airfare to and from Cuba
- Supplement at least four (4) months allowance for preparatory year
- Sign a bond agreement at Ministry of Finance and the Public Service prior to departure
- Agree to return to work in Jamaica for at least five (5) years to contribute to economic and social development
