LASCO increased its financial support to fifth-form students sitting the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC) this year to $30,000, up from the $10,000 last year through their LASCO CSEC Scholarships.
LASCO Financial Services Limited (LFSL) is increasing its financial support to fifth-form students sitting the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC) this year to $30,000, up from the $10,000 last year.
The company will offset the fees for Principles of Business, Principles of Accounts, Information Technology, Economics and French or Spanish through the LASCO Scholarships for CSEC students.
LASCO Financial Services Limited managing director, Jacinth Hall-Tracey made the announcement at a Lunch and Learn luncheon for twenty (20) recipients of the LASCO Money Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) scholarship, held recently at the Courtleigh Hotel.

The Lunch and Learn Luncheon celebrates the LASCO scholarship recipients while serving as a forum for the students to learn financial and life skills from LFSL executives.
LASCO Scholarships Recipient Recognition
Hall-Tracey told the students that the LASCO scholarships through the LFSL Financial Services has recognized that they are destined for greatness.
She said, “Our nation’s youths most valuable lesson is to seize every opportunity for advancement and for you to realise that when a company or person randomly selects you for educational assistance, it is because you are destined for greatness.”
“You owe it to yourself, to invest the time to ensure that that greatness is manifested in your life,” Hall-Tracey said.
The LASCO Scholarships recipients were selected by guidance counsellors at their schools based on LASCO’s criteria that the recipients are from low-income households, with good grades and are actively involved in school activities.

This year’s LASCO scholarship recipients are Iannikaye Brown and Janielle Betton – Merl Grove; Deninka Harriott and Damani Burton – Papine High; Jamaree Johnson and Kyle Walker – Calabar High; Kedesha Morris and Kimani Smith – Ocho Rios High; Shawnta Russell and Imagio Francis – Dinthill High; Asia Bell and Derrick Banny – Titchfield High; Oshane Stewart and Domani Griffiths – Cornwall College; Britannia Thomas and Kamala Walker – Paul Bogle High; Tanikalee Harrison and D-Jaun Miller – Seaforth High and Andre Bedward and Shante Smith – Glenmuir High.
