The LEAP Scholarships program was launched late 2015 with the aim of providing leadership, guidance, motivation and resources to foster development and opportunities among the student population by adopting the student-led tourism organisations at all local university campuses.
Since then the programme has engaged not only the student members, but has also provided hands-on interactive sessions with a number of hospitality and tourism lecturers who were given the opportunity to work alongside heads of departments at a Sandals resort to gain insight into department operations and to facilitate opportunities to discuss the task of transitioning students from the classroom to the real world of employment.
