The JIEE Final Year Scholarship Award
The JIEE Scholarship award shall be known as THE GRACEKENNEDY JIEE FINAL YEAR SCHOLARSHIP. The scholarship is valued at J$500,000 and closes by July 15th and offered for one academic year only. The Scholarship is provided by the Jamaican Institute for Excellence in Education.
Terms and Conditions
The applicant shall be a final year student at one of the following institutions: The University of the West Indies, University of Technology, Jamaica.
The applicant must be pursuing a government sponsored programme in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) at The University of the West Indies or The University of Technology, Jamaica. The applicant must also be a Jamaican citizen and a full-time student.
On the first day of May in the year of the application, the JIEE Final Year Scholarship candidate shall not be over the age of twenty-three (23) years. He or she must be a person of good character, displaying leadership qualities, and having active involvement in community service.

All applicants must have completed and submitted The GraceKennedy JIEE Final Year Scholarship application form by July 15 with a 3.0 GPA average or above. The Scholarship applicant must present good and sufficient evidence that the requirements specified above have been satisfied.
JIEE Final Year Scholarship Application Instructions
It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit all outstanding academic grades received after July 15. These grades are to be emailed to gkfoundation@gkco.com.
All supporting documents are to be submitted with the application form. These are a copy of birth certificate, academic records –Certified copies of CSEC, CAPE and University grades (1st year to final year); It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit all outstanding academic grades (CAPE/ Semester grades) received after July 15. These grades are to be emailed to gkfoundation@gkco.com.
Submission of a letter of recommendation from a current lecturer/tutor is required, along with a statement about the applicant’s career goals, leadership abilities, social and community involvement (not to exceed 250 words).
Regulations
The scholarship is valued at a maximum amount of J$500,000.00. The Scholarship is valid for the academic year immediately following the offer of the award and cannot be deferred for any reason. With respect to The GraceKennedy JIEE Final Year Scholarship, the following shall apply.
The holder of the Scholarship is required to complete sixty (60) volunteer hours on a project that has significant impact on the community/school/NGO they select. This project must be pre-approved by the GraceKennedy Foundation before implementation. The holder is required to submit a written report on their volunteer project by April 30. The holder of the Scholarship is required to act as a campus representative for the GraceKennedy Group for the duration of the Scholarship.
The holder grants the Donor permission to use and publish any recorded material, photographs and testimonials of the holder for marketing, social media and print, TV and other media purposes.
The Donor shall appoint a selection panel comprising of the following: one representative from the JIEE board, a representative from UWI and/or UTECH and two representatives from the GraceKennedy Foundation, one of whom shall be the Chairman of the panel.
