RBC recognize it takes a combination of both hard work and educational funding for most students to achieve their goals. That’s why they have developed a diverse set of scholarship programs worth over $500,000 a year to help address the critical need for student funding across Canada.
The deadline for the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship has now passed. Scholarship recipients will be announced in late July 2017. RBC Capital Markets Scholarships
RBC Capital Markets is committed to fostering workplace diversity. They remain deeply committed to the Scholarship for Women with which RBC have experienced much success over the past couple of years. As a further step toward realizing a diverse workforce, this year they are also introducing a Diversity Scholarship.
Through these scholarships, RBC aims to recognize and reward outstanding Canadian undergraduate business, engineering and economics students, who are interested in pursuing a career in banking and finance.

Scholarship Details
- Two different scholarships are available.
- RBC have continued our Scholarship for Women with up to four available, and introduced a new Diversity Scholarship with up to four available, each in the amount of C$5,000.
- Scholarship recipients will also receive an offer of paid employment for a Summer Analyst position at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto or New York (1 position available).
- Scholarship recipients will be paired with a senior professional from RBC Capital Markets, who will serve as a contact and mentor.
Scholarship for Women: Candidate Eligibility
- Female students in their 2nd year of full-time undergraduate studies, enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university in Canada (or Quebec students in their 1st year)
- Continuing full-time undergraduate studies the following year
- Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA/80%
- Diverse extra-curricular participation and community involvement
- Canadian Citizens, permanent residents of Canada, or individuals who are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer until, and including, September 2018
Diversity Scholarship: Candidate Eligibility
- Anyone who identifies as a visible minority, female, Aboriginal or Indigenous background, LGBT+, Vets, and/or persons with disabilities
- Continuing their full-time undergraduate studies the following year
- Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA/80%
- Diverse extra-curricular participation and community involvement
- Canadian Citizens, permanent residents of Canada, or individuals who are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer until, and including, September 2018
Application Requirements
Candidates must submit the a 300 word personal essay in support of their candidacy, explaining why the applicant is interested in a career in banking and finance. Additionally, a current resume and unofficial transcripts of the applicant’s academic record. RBC appreciate all student interest and submissions for their scholarships. The review of applications and selection of candidates is a highly competitive process.
Following the May 31 deadline, applications will be reviewed by a team of business leaders at RBC Capital Markets. Any shortlisted applicants will then be invited to participate in a telephone or in-person interview at our Toronto office in Summer 2017. (Any pre-approved travel costs will be covered by RBC Capital Markets).
The recipients of both Scholarships will be announced early Fall 2017. All Scholarship recipients will join the RBC Capital Markets Summer Class of 2018.
