The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service Scholarship and Assistance Unit is pleased to announce the publication of the 2024/2025 study in China Scholarships program for all qualified Jamaican students.
Applications are invited from persons wishing to pursue Undergraduate studies, Graduate studies or Advanced training at institutions of higher learning in China during the academic year 2024/2025.
Study in China Scholarships Priority Disciplines
The annual study in China Scholarships programme is open to the following disciplines:
- Medical Technology
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Entrepreneurial and Innovation Development
- Water Technology
- Education
- Engineering
- Environment and Climate Change
The 2024/2025 Study in China Scholarships Eligibility
Study in China Scholarships application candidates should be a Jamaican citizen, and/or permanently residing in Jamaica for at least three (3) prior to application. Additional eligibility includes the following:
- Not be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China
- Be a High School graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs
- Be a Bachelor’s Degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs
- Be a Master’s Degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs
- Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardian in China
- Submit medical certificate attesting to good health
- Application should be endorsed by the national Liaison Office (ONE) i.e. Scholarships and Assistance Unit, Ministry of Finance and the Public Service

The Benefits of this Chinese Government Scholarship Programme
The Chinese government graduate scholarship will provide the following:
- Full tuition
- Air Fare (to China and return flight upon completion)
- Stipend
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance
- Accommodation and meals, medical care and study materials covered by the Chinese Government
Obligations of the 2024/2025 Study in China Scholarships Programme
Successful candidates will be required to sign a Loan Agreement for Education and Training prior to leaving Jamaica giving an undertaking that upon completion of studies, they will return and work in Jamaica for a period of five (5) years.
The Chinese Graduate Scholarship Application Procedure
The Chinese Government China Scholarships Application form is an electronic form which must be completed online by clicking “Scholarship Application for Students” at http://www.campuschina.org Please read all instructions carefully. Download the completed Application Form and print two (2) hard copies.
Prepare supporting documents (in duplicate) for application packages as required:
- Completed Application Form (Agency #3881)
- Notarized highest diploma
- Academic transcripts
- Birth Certificate, Copy of the biodata page of passport with validity later than March 1, 2025 and US Visa
- A study plan or research proposal (200, 500, 800 words) for undergraduate, non-degree and postgraduates respectively
- Police Record
- Recommendation letters
- Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English
- Applicants with Pre-admission Letter/Admission Letter for designated universities should enclose the letter within the package
- Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose a photocopied version

The Scholarships and Assistance Unit, Public Service Establishment Division, manages the GOJ Civil Service Training Programme and acts as Point of Contact for the various donor Agencies and Countries offering technical assistance to the Government under bilateral and multilateral agreements.
In this regard, this office is responsible for disseminating information on training and study opportunities as they become available. For all the courses, unless otherwise stated, application forms are available at this office.
