F.A.C.E Jamaica Agricultural Scholarship Programme Goals

  • Strengthen national capacity in agricultural research, innovation, and sustainable resource management
  • Foster scientific advancement to support climate-resilient and data-driven agriculture
  • Develop leadership for future-focused agricultural systems in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean
  • Provide Mentorship in the form of guidance and support from experienced professionals in the field
  • Open doors to Career Opportunities: Gaining insights into potential career paths and opportunities within the Ministry and the sector.

Fields of Study Supported

Scholarships are available for postgraduate studies (MSc or Doctoral level) in the following priority areas:

  • Plant Genetics and Breeding
  • Social Science and Fertility Management
  • Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming Technology
  • Biometrics and Agricultural Data Analytics
  • Crop Science and Sustainable Production System

F.A.C.E Jamaica Agricultural Scholarship Programme Overview

These programmes are vital to achieving food security, enhancing productivity, protecting natural resources, and increasing Jamaica’s global competitiveness in agriculture.

Eligibility Criteria:

Under the Scholarship Programme, each applicant must:

  1. Be a Jamaican citizen or permanent resident
  2. Hold a degree in a relevant agricultural or natural sciences discipline (minimum GPA of 3.0)
  3. Have been admitted to a recognized institution offering postgraduate programmes in the approved fields
  4. At the time of application: MSc./MPhil. Level candidates should be less than 35 years old and PhD level candidates less than 45 years old.
  5. Submit a research proposal aligned with national priorities
  6. Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to contributing to the agricultural sector upon completion

Applications of the F.A.C.E Jamaica Agricultural Scholarship Programme must be submitted via the Ministry’s online scholarship portal. Required documents include:

  • Completed application form
  • Official university transcripts
  • Curriculum vitae (CV).
  • Statement of purpose or research proposal
  • Two academic or professional references
  • Proof of admission
