Japanese Embassy Scholarships for Jamaican students

Apply for the 2018 Japanese Embassy Scholarships from the Japanese Embassy in Jamaica. The Japanese Government offers Scholarships for Research (Graduate Studies), Undergraduate and College of Technology Studies to Jamaicans for the Academic Year 2018 to qualified Jamaican students.

The Embassy of Japan is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, continues to offer the Research (Graduate Studies), Undergraduate and College of Technology Studies Scholarship to Jamaicans, commencing in the academic year 2018.
Applicants may download application forms and guidelines from the Japanese Government Scholarships website at: http://www.jamaica.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/00_000068.html. The deadline for submission of application and supporting documents is May 26, 2017.

It is the embassy of Japan’s hope that the Japanese Government Scholarships will assist the human resource development efforts of the Government of Jamaica. Also, the embassy look forward to seeing closer exchanges and mutual understanding between the Japanese population through this Programme.

The Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan: MEXT) offers scholarships to Jamaican students who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students (graduate studies), undergraduate students, and college of technology students, commencing in the academic year 2018 (April/October).

Japanese Embassy Scholarships (Monbukagakusho: MEXT)

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT or Monbukagakusho) of the Government of Japan offers scholarships to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities.

As of the 2015 Japanese academic year, some 102,000 students from approximately 160 countries and regions around the world have studied in Japan under the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship program established in 1954. As of May 1, 2015, there were 9,223 foreign students studying in Japan as Japanese government scholarship students.

Since 1994, the Government of Japan awarded Research (Graduate) Student Scholarships to 40 Jamaicans, 3 Belizeans and 2 Bahamians to pursue Master’s and Doctoral studies in Japan. More recently, undergraduate Student Scholarship has become available to citizens of all three countries and College of Technology Student Scholarship to Jamaicans.
