CHRISTIANA, Manchester – Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2024 Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships for Manchester students. To qualify, the scholarship applicant must be currently enrolled in high school or university and lives in the parish. Below, we outline the easy ways you can win this awesome award.
This year, the Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarship programme, through Next Move Jamaica International are offering two (2) scholarship awards to the most qualified and needy students residing in parish of Manchester.
Please complete the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM and upload ALL required documents including your last transcript, reference letter, proof of financial need (where necessary), a resume and a recent passport size photo of yourself.
The Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships Deadline
All 2024 NMJ International scholarships are due no later than SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2024 AT 11:59PM.

About the Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships Donor
Vashti A. Mills is a Manchester-born Jamaican currently residing in the United States, having emigrated more than 30 years ago. She maintains close ties to her birth home, spending significant time in the country each year. Vashti is the very embodiment of hard work, dedication to service, and an unwavering devotion to her faith.
Through all of her hard work and devotion to others, Vashti has instilled in her children and her many grandchildren the need to advance through educational achievement. Academic excellence, a passion for helping the community at large and commitment to the tenets of her faith are the main driving forces behind all that she does. Through this scholarship, it is our hope that we will continue to assist others the way that Vashti would.
This award has been established in her honor and is sponsored by her grandson, Ricardo A. Salmon, Esq., and her family.
Scholarship Eligibility
Jamaican students living, enrolled or accepted in any local high school, college or university in Manchester. Applicants must UPLOAD a comprehensive essay of no more than 500 words along with a passport size photo. Students will be selected for the Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships based on several key components, including:
• Completed application forms.
• Comprehensive essay.
• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace or another leader in your community.
• Transcript and a completed resume
Application Criteria for the Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships
Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarship awards will be based on academic performance in end of term exams and/or through verifiable financial need. A panel consisting of the donor will select short-listed candidates. Evidence showing recent volunteer service will be a plus.

Use of the scholarship money from the Vashti Mills Achievement Scholarships must ONLY be used to cover the cost of tuition and other educational expenses.
