SCHOLARSHIP SUMMARY: It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Young Women/Men of Purpose’s (@ ywop/ymop on Instagram) is now accepting applications for the J$50,000 Foundation Friends’ Scholarship 2021. The Scholarship deadline will be May 31, 2021 and open ONLY to Manchester High School Students.
This YWOP/YMOP scholarship is valued at $50,000 and is open ONLY to students who live in Manchester, started Manchester High School at grade 7 and are in grades ranging from 3rd to 6th form at Manchester High School (MHS).
The Foundation Friends’ Scholarship is tenable for one (1) year at Manchester High School and is made possible through donors who are all past students of Manchester High School who want to give back to their Alma mater by making this scholarship available through YWOP/YMOP. The scholarship is to be administered by Manchester High School.
The Foundation Friends’ Scholarship is named in honor of the donors, who have been friends of the Young Women/Men of Purpose’s founder since first form (some before) of Manchester High. The name is grounded on the longevity and depth of their friendship, although they are now based in different geographical regions, have pursued different careers with personal development and family.
YWOP/YMOP is therefore inviting applications from 3rd to 6th form students from Manchester High School who meet the requirements below with guidance from Teachers, Guidance Counsellors, Parents and Guardians. (excerpt from @ywop.ymop on Instagram post)

Foundation Friends’ Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants of the Foundation Friends’ Scholarship must be a past student of a primary school in Manchester. He or she must be a student from Manchester who started Manchester High School at Grade 7 and is currently in grades ranging from 3rd to 6th form at Manchester High School.
YWOP/YMOP Scholarship applicants will need to demonstrate a proven financial need.
The applicant is required to be performing well academically, with a minimum average of 60%. He or she must be actively involved in one or more co-curricular activities. All successful scholarship applicants must be willing and agree to participate in YWOP/YMOP’s Mentoring Programme for one year if he or she is successfully selected to receive this Foundation Friends’ Scholarship.
Please note that the scholarship funds will be used to ONLY to cover School and Administrative fees, to include books and other school related expenses.
