I am going to step out of my shell to boldly predict that local scholarship donors will be more incline to donate and offer more coronavirus scholarships during and post COVID-19.

Be on the lookout for COVID-19 recovery scholarship awards in Jamaica and for study abroad programs. An awesome scholarship opportunity is for study abroad students through major scholarship providers starting with our Government of Jamaica (GOJ’s) bilateral agreements with countries like Cuba, Brazil, New Zealand, China, Japan and Mexico. Other potential scholarship donors will be through the Organization of America States (OAS), Rhodes and Fulbright scholarships just to name a few.
With our prayers, and God’s mercy, I expect to see hundreds of PEP and CSEC level coronavirus scholarships. These small awards for needy students as well as small bursaries aimed towards low income students to cover the cost of lunch or transportation. I personally know this because, through our not-for-profit (Next Move Jamaica International), we will be increasing this years awards when the coast is clear.
Colleges Will Offer More Scholarships or Discounts to Encourage Enrollments
Finally, this is another prediction – Colleges will offer more coronavirus scholarships and tuition discounts to encourage enrollments. a matter of fact, the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean is currently offer a 50% discount on their summer semester tuition. Online or long-distance learning is one of the most used term along with COVID-19.
World-wide students are staying home and participating in long distance online learning. As a major result of this, less potential students will be enrolling in colleges so the responding result will be universities and skilled training institutions will need to find ways to increase their enrollment through scholarship enticement.
Look out for these and other coronavirus scholarships! Follow your preferred school and be prepared to take advantage of these pending incentives.
