The 2017-2018 Fulbright Graduate Scholarship Program
The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce two options for Fulbright graduate study scholarships available to Jamaicans.
- A. The Fulbright Graduate Student Program (Foreign Student Program) – Application is now open and ends early June 2017.
This program seeks qualified graduates, with a first- or upper second- class honors Bachelor’s degree from a local institution, who wish to continue their studies in the United States for either a Master’s or a Ph.D. degree and who has an exceptional promise of making contribution on return to Jamaica.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates are eligible to apply in the fields of:
a) Humanities
b) Natural sciences
c) Mathematics/engineering, or
d) Social sciences
- Jamaican-citizen graduates of tertiary institutions.
- Persons without “green cards” (alien registration cards) or who are not resident in the United States
- Individuals who are not already pursuing studies at a U.S. university

To access the online application, applicants must use this link https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/international. You should create an account and electronically submit the completed application and three letters of recommendation no later than early June. Note, only short-listed candidates will be contacted for interviews.
