Scholarship Award
The GraceKennedy Foundation is inviting applications from qualified Caribbean Maritime University students for the THE GRACEKENNEDY CMU FINAL YEAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME. The scholarship is for one academic year only. The CMU Final Year Scholarship Programme is for final year Logistics Degree students and has a maximum value of J$150,000 and closes July 15th.
Scholarship to the Caribbean Maritime University Final Year Students
The GraceKennedy CMU Final Year Scholarship will be open to final year students registered for the Logistics Degree Programme at the Caribbean Maritime University who qualify under the terms and conditions stated below.
Terms and Condition of the GraceKennedy CMU Scholarship
The GraceKennedy CMU scholarship applicants should be a full time Jamaican citizen. On the first day of May in the year of the application, the candidate shall not be over the age of twenty-four (24) years. The scholarship applicant must be a person of good character, displaying leadership qualities and consistent involvement in social and community activities.
All scholarship applicants must have completed and submitted the GraceKennedy CMU Final Year Scholarship application form by July 15 and have a 3.0 GPA average or above. He or she must have given good and sufficient evidence that the requirements specified in 3.1 to 3.6 above have been satisfied.
Application Instruction
- All supporting documents must be submitted with the application form:
- A character reference from a Lecturer from the Faculty
- Academic Record –Copies of CMU grades (1st year to final year). It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit all outstanding academic grades received after July 15. These grades are to be emailed to [email protected].
- Copy of birth certificate
- Statement about career goals, leadership abilities, social and community involvement (not to exceed 250 words)
Regulations
The GraceKennedy CMU Final Year scholarship is for tuition only at a maximum amount of $150,000. The Scholarship is valid for the academic year immediately following the offer of the award and cannot be deferred for any reason.
With respect to The GraceKennedy CMU Final Year Scholarship, the following shall apply. 50% of the scholarship will be paid in Semester 1. The holder of the Scholarship is required to complete thirty (30) volunteer hours by January 15 and adhere to the rules and requirements for the volunteer programme in order to receive the balance of the scholarship funds for Semester 2.
The scholarship holder is required to act as a campus representative for the GraceKennedy Group for the duration of the Scholarship. The holder grants the Donor permission to use and publish any recorded material, photographs and testimonials of the holder for marketing, social media and print, TV and other media purposes.
The Donor shall appoint a selection panel comprising at least one representative from the Caribbean Maritime University and two representatives from the GraceKennedy Foundation one of whom shall be Chairman of the panel.
THE GRACEKENNEDY CMU FINAL YEAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME is ONLY open to FINAL YEAR students reading for a LOGISTICS DEGREE at the Caribbean Maritime University.
