The NCB Foundation: NCB is accepting applications for the current academic year from qualified local applicants. With education as it primary strategic focus, the NCB Foundation provides individual financial assistance to students through a scholarship and grant programme. The programme targets Jamaican students pursuing studies in local institutions from the primary to tertiary level.
Sagicor Foundation: The Sagicor Group, Jamaica is committed to giving back to our community, and that is entrenched in our vision “to be a great company committed to improving the lives of people in the communities in which we operate.” It is through this vision as well as our Foundation tagline ‘caring, inspiring, serving’ , that we will continue to deliver positive contributions for our children in Jamaica in the areas of health, education and sport.
Joan Duncan Foundation (JMMB): Apply for the Joan Duncan Foundation Scholarship program sponsored by the Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB). The Joan Duncan Foundation scholarship program provides financial assistance to students in all major local recognized educational institutions in Jamaica who are well-rounded students involved in their schools and communities.
CB Facey Foundation: Students are awarded full scholarships annually from CB Facey Foundation, the charitable arm of Pan-Jamaican Investment Trust Limited (Pan-Jam). The foundation is another member of the Major Scholarship Foundations in Jamaica and has been overseeing Pan-Jam’s corporate social responsibility programmes for over 30 years. It invests in arts and education through relationships the National Gallery of Jamaica; Boys’ Town Infant and Primary School; the University of Technology, Jamaica; and Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts.
Mutual Building Societies Foundation: Victoria Mutual continues to maintain its sponsorship of a number of activities that not only generate national appeal and pride, but continue to have a significant impact on youth and community development, the promotion of character building, family life and, by extension, social stability in our nation. The Mutual Building Societies Foundation is one of Jamaica’s Major Scholarship Foundations that you as a student can apply to even if you are not a VMBS account holder.
Conglomerates
The Sandals Foundation: The Sandals Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International. It is the culmination of three decades of dedication to playing a meaningful role in the lives of the communities where we operate across the Caribbean. The Sandals Foundation seeks to help fulfill the promise of the Caribbean community through investment in sustainable projects in education; environment and community which improve people’s lives and preserve our natural surroundings.
Jamaica Flour Mills Foundation Scholarships: Applications are invited for Scholarships to be offered by the JAMAICA FLOUR MILLS FOUNDATION to pursue full-time study at University of the West Indies (U.W.I.), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) and Northern Caribbean University (N.C.U.).
GraceKennedy Foundation: GraceKennedy Foundation actively promotes well being, primarily by supporting educational and environmental programmes and processes. The Foundation began with an initial grant of $500,000 provided by its parent company. For the first three years, the Foundation focused on three specific areas of interest. These were: community service, education and Jamaica’s heritage. Initially, the Foundation responded to requests received, rather than attempting to initiate activities.
Digicel Foundation: The Education Portfolio offers support to projects and initiatives that focus on innovative techniques and solutions aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning experience. Through the Enrichment Programme, the Foundation has supported literacy and numeracy interventions by equipping teachers with cutting edge technology and innovative ICT that engages students in both audio and visual learning as well as annual scholarships.
Seprod Foundation: For the past 10 years, the Seprod foundation has awarded over 300 students under its GSAT scholarship programme. The foundation recently launched a full scholarship program for students of the College of Agriculture and Science Education (CASE) in Portland.
UWI Development and Endowment Fund (UWIDEF): UWIDEF scholarships are the main source of alternative tuition financing available at the UWI, Mona Campus today. These UWIDEF scholarships have been financed by contributions from annual donors. The UWIDEF Scholarship is the major fundraising arm of the UWI Mona campus and provides stewardship for funds raised through major capital campaigns and projects, general endowment and planned giving.
The CHASE Fund: The Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education Fund (CHASE) was incorporated in Jamaica on November 25, 2002 and began its operations in January 2003. It was registered under the Companies Act to receive, distribute, administer and manage the monetary contributions from the lottery companies pursuant to Section 59G of the betting Gaming and Lotteries Act. The fund is accepting scholarship applications!
Sports Personalities and Celebrities
Pocket Rocket Foundation: The SFP Pocket Rocket Foundation Scholarships were born out of the desire of Jamaica’s Two-Time Olympic 100M Gold Champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, to create lasting change in the lives of student-athletes and children in children’s homes across Jamaica by providing academic scholarships, financial aid and other assistance. These opportunities by the SFP Pocket Rocket Foundation scholarships and just another Jamaica scholarship program by a Jamaican.
Veronica Campbell-Brown Foundation: The Veronica Campbell-Brown Foundation was established out of a burning passion to assist and uplift young women who are underrepresented and lacking in the necessary resources to succeed in life. The Foundation aims to accomplish this on a twofold basis: 1) Providing for students necessary resources inclusive of a high school education from the entry grade through graduation and; 2) Establishing a mentorship program among females aimed at advancing their self worth.
International Scholarship Foundations
Next Move Jamaica International, Inc.: Founded in 2012, Next Move Jamaica International, Inc. empowers Jamaican families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete higher education, while providing scholarships, school supplies, resume and support services to as many exceptional Jamaican students as possible.
The Grace Scholarship Fund: The Grace Scholarship Fund was founded in 2013 to provide academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences for young Jamaican students of outstanding promise.
Soraya Amy Jackson Foundation: The mission of the SAJF is to provide a system of support for Jamaican students through education financing in the form of Scholarships, bursaries, career counseling and educational seminars.
