1. Learn Spanish: Basic Spanish for English Speakers

This 16-week Spanish language course is aimed at students who would like to learn conversational Spanish starting with Spanish basics.

The course introduces everyday language and includes activities to practice all four language skills: reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension and speaking.

After completing this course, you should be able to introduce yourself, ask basic questions, and conduct a brief conversation in Spanish.

2. Introduction to Computer Science

Offered by Harvard University, this entry-level course offers information on computer science and the art of programming for majors and non-majors alike. CS50x teaches students how to “think algorithmically and solve problems efficiently”.

Topics include abstraction, algorithms, data structures, encapsulation, resource management, security, software engineering, and web development.

Languages include C, PHP, and JavaScript plus SQL, CSS, and HTML. Problem sets inspired by real-world domains of biology, cryptography, finance, forensics, and gaming. As of Fall 2015, the on-campus version of CS50xCS50, was Harvard’s largest course.

3. Free Oline Career in Supply Chain Analytics

This course in Supply Chain Analytics is offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and features an overview of introductory probability and decision analysis to ensure that students understand how uncertainty can be modeled.

Next, the course looks at basic statistics and regression and optimization modeling from unconstrained to linear, non-linear, and mixed integer linear programming.

This free online career course, offered by RIT, looks at the initiation, planning and execution stages of project management. Other aspects of the course cover the key aspects of risk, quality, scope, schedule, cost, time, resource and communications.

Offered by the University of British Columbia, this course will teach you how to develop a basic customer segmentation system, target customer segments and position product and services, understand the psychology of consumer decision making, develop pricing strategies, define appropriate channel systems, understand marketing metrics, and build effective communication efforts with customers.

7. Introduction to Programming with Java, Part 1: Starting to Code with Java

Want to learn to code but don’t know where to start? Then this free online career course is for you. This course will teach basic knowledge of algorithms and Java programming, designing and implementing recursive algorithms, how to use and interpret the API of some of the most common Java classes and how to develop simple programs in Java.

Learning Chinese is more and more appealing as the country continues to expand its business throughout the globe. With this course, learn more about Chinese culture communication, colloquial expressions and idioms, and communication skills in modern China.

9. Financial Accounting

Another free online career can be to learn the underlying concepts of financial accounting, accounting techniques and the preparation of financial statements with this ACCA-X course. With this course, you will learn to record, process and report business transactions, use the trial balance and identify and correct errors, draft financial statements and understand the qualitative characteristics of useful information.

Completion of this course will also prepare you for the ACCA ‘Financial Accounting’ exam (FFA/F3), which leads to a Diploma in Accounting and Business.
