The IGL Legacy Scholarship for Nursing is an annual scholarship award open to students of the University of the West Indies , Mona Campus. The IGL Legacy Scholarship for Nursing covers J$100,000 per annum of the scholarship awardee’s tuition and last for two (2 ) years of the duration of the course. The deadline for the Legacy Scholarship for Nursing will be July, 15, 2017.

IGL Legacy Scholarship for Nursing Eligibility
The IGL Legacy Scholarship for Nursing awards are available to Jamaican Nationals who are registered in a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the School of Nursing and have completed at least one academic year of full time study and will continue the degree programme.
The IGL Legacy Scholarship for Nursing will be based on academic performance based on the results of the previous year University examinations (minimum GPA of 3.0) with verifiable financial need. The successful applicant must have active participation in co-curricular activities and demonstrable leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement.
Shortlisted candidates shall be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the University and the Donor organization.
All candidates are required to submit, along with their application form, an essay with the following theme: “What I Hope to Achieve by Becoming a Nurse”

The application form must be completed regardless of the type of assistance in which the student is interested. Applications will be considered by the Financial Assistance Committee who will, based on the information provided by the student, determine which type of assistance will be offered.
The Office of Student Financing (OSF) exists to assist registered undergraduate students of the Mona Campus. Types of Financial assistance includes scholarships, bursaries, grants and meal subsidies.
